Look What Someone Left On My New House!

ZOMG! It snowed in Texas [insert shocked, sarcastic face here]. Granted it's a bit early in the year for a snow and I now have to deal with my husband yelling at the TV whilst playing Call Of Duty: Black Ops for 3 days, I don't actually mind the weather... I get to play Robot Unicorn Attack all day! w00t!

A Craigslist Rant

While I love CL and have gotten lucky with a few items here and there, I do believe that over half of the people that post (at least in my region) are complete idiots! One thing I have learned over the past few years from my husband is "No matter how much you paid for it or how great of condition it's in, there's always depreciated value". How do expect to get exactly what you paid for something? And then, there's the people who even advertise that it has some wear and tear and only want to decrease the price by $10 or so. IDIOTS!

Another thing that bugs me about CL is the fact that I've seen some pretty outrageous prices for items and NO DAMN PICTURE(S)! How in the world do you expect anyone to take an interest in a bedroom set priced at $4,500 when there are no pictures attached to your post? And let's be honest people, when we're searching for a furry friend in the Pets section, a description just isn't going to cut it. PICTURES, people!!!

And speaking of the Pets section...
"no pet sales or breeding please -- rehoming with small adoption fee OK"

While I do understand that breeds such as English Bull Dogs are expensive in the real world,
I think that asking $3,500 for one on CL breaks both of the aforementioned rules. If you can
afford a $3,500 dog, then you can afford to put an ad in the damn newspaper for crying out
loud! And seriously, if it was an "accidental breeding", why are you charging breeders prices
when you should be more concerned with finding good homes for them? Just because they're
worth that much, doesn't mean you have to ask for it.

AAAAAAAH!

I've been incredibly busy lately. Packing, moving, unpacking, cleaning, hanging stuff, cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning. On top of that, I was sick for the first week1/2 of living in our new house. I'm actually pretty damn proud of myself and my new house. I've gotten so much done and it's starting to feel like an actual home, rather than just a space we moved into. I'm still having issues believing that it's *ours*, and I still haven't learned to sleep in it yet.

I'm currently working on getting some additional cleaning done and the rooms set up. I want to do a video tour for all my non-local friends, so, everything's got to be just right... which is a challenge when your brain is as scattered as mine. I'm like a butterfly, hopping from flower to flower, constantly switching projects before I complete any of them. And I've recently added a sinister element into my daily routine... COFFEE! I'm so addicted to the stuff. I'd never been big on it before, but for the past three days I've been drinking at least two cups per day.

And on that note, I've got some energy to burn on unfinished projects...

What now?

My family and I just bought our first home. We seal the deal Wednesday morning. We've known that it was ours for a while now. So, you'd *think* that I would have my sh!t packed and ready to go, right? WRONG! Dead wrong. I don't know where to even start! I've got a few boxes here and there, but I guess I'm just more of the type that wants a place to actually put my crap rather than packing it neatly in boxes and then having to unpack. I've rationalized this in my head many times and it makes perfect sense to me, but my responsible side feels the guilt that I'm sitting here writing a blog, rather than neatly folding dishes into bubble wrap. Responsibility sucks! And on that note, maybe I can sneak in a little nap before this Amp Overdrive kicks in.
