A Craigslist Rant

While I love CL and have gotten lucky with a few items here and there, I do believe that over half of the people that post (at least in my region) are complete idiots! One thing I have learned over the past few years from my husband is "No matter how much you paid for it or how great of condition it's in, there's always depreciated value". How do expect to get exactly what you paid for something? And then, there's the people who even advertise that it has some wear and tear and only want to decrease the price by $10 or so. IDIOTS!

Another thing that bugs me about CL is the fact that I've seen some pretty outrageous prices for items and NO DAMN PICTURE(S)! How in the world do you expect anyone to take an interest in a bedroom set priced at $4,500 when there are no pictures attached to your post? And let's be honest people, when we're searching for a furry friend in the Pets section, a description just isn't going to cut it. PICTURES, people!!!

And speaking of the Pets section...
"no pet sales or breeding please -- rehoming with small adoption fee OK"

While I do understand that breeds such as English Bull Dogs are expensive in the real world,
I think that asking $3,500 for one on CL breaks both of the aforementioned rules. If you can
afford a $3,500 dog, then you can afford to put an ad in the damn newspaper for crying out
loud! And seriously, if it was an "accidental breeding", why are you charging breeders prices
when you should be more concerned with finding good homes for them? Just because they're
worth that much, doesn't mean you have to ask for it.
